Natalia's Story
My pole fitness story starts year ago.
In summer I'de hit rock bottom in my life when my fiancé has decided to leave me, as I've found out later it was for another woman.
One of the last few things I've heard from him was that I'm weak, useless and my body is getting quite flabby in some parts. What else can ruin your confidence and self esteem as dramatically as this?
After couple weeks of feeling low I decided it was a time to do something for myself. I joined a gym but found exercising there boring and repetitive. I needed excitement and fun.
Then I found out about new pole classes starting in Exeter. One of my friends had done it before and she was always raving about how great it was.
I've decided to join, my first class was on 3rd of October. I went there practically horrified as I was not a fit person. First class was hard as I was completely out of my comfort zone but soon I realised that I'm not the only one feeling this way. I met some really nice people that day, one of them is now my very close friend.
We've learned few spins on the pole which made me feel like a happy child in the playground, it was so much fun! We have also did some stretching at the end which reminded me again: I am not flexible person. I remember walking home and feeling exhausted but so happy at the same time.
The next morning I woke up in pain, every inch of my body was telling me: you've worked out! I had to roll out off of my bed as it was too painful to get up. I promised myself that I wouldn't let the post workout pain ruin it for me. No pain no gain!
Soon all the pain was not an issue anymore as my body got stronger very quickly.
I've never feel like I can't be bothered to go to class, I can't wait for it. My body has changed and I feel like a new person. I have my confidence back, I feel determined, mentally strong and capable to do anything. I can see muscle definition on my body, I totally love my new abs.
Currently I'm learning new inverts and trying to get stronger on my weak side. My absolutely favourite move is Gemini and its variations.
I've done photoshoot on the pole and I feel really proud to achieve so much in such a short time. Sometimes I'm looking at my pictures and can't believe that year ago I didn't have pole in my life.
Now Pole is part of my life.
